Celebrating Women with Womenwill and Modern Nanays of Mindanao
This upcoming Saturday, March 24, GBG CDO along with the Modern Nanays of Mindanao will launch Womenwill and celebrate International Women's Day at Limketkai Center.
GBG CDO decided to seek the help of 2017's TAYO (Ten Accomplished Youth Organization) Finalist Modern Nanays of Mindanao, spearheaded by Nadine Casino. The Modern Nanays is a group of young mothers who share experiences in modern parenting. The group advocates breastfeeding, babywearing and cloth-diapering and among their many projects is Nanay Meet-Ups, a Mother to-Mother support to help cope with raising a child based from experiences coupled with scientific based resources and evidence based practice relayed in laymen terms. The group was able to connect at least 2,000 mothers to their growing network.
Google started the Womenwill initiative to create economic opportunity for women by connecting them to the online world and tools to make the most of it. From helping women in rural villages get online and bringing together women entrepreneurs, to advocating for more inclusive workplaces and partnering with groups like UN Women to drive conversations around gender equality, develop and support programs to help women build skills, get inspired, and connect with each other.
So on March 24, Limketkai Center will be the venue for the first Womenwill get together along with the Modern Nanays of Mindanao. Along with women speakers from different industries and backgrounds, Womenwill aims to encourage more women to leverage themselves by learning new skills through technologies.
Registration for the event will end midnight of March 22.
Sponsoring our first Womenwill event are Allele White, Vjandep Pastel of Camiguin and Gymboree Play and Music at Limketkai Center.
